Back in 2012, our pal Robert Dennis had the idea of asking Georgia to play a solo electric guitar set on a Lower East Side rooftop. Georgia gave herself the nom de guitar, Little Black Egg, and James recorded one of her rehearsals in our practice space. The result — entitled Buzzard’s Bed — was released as a one-sided LP on our Egon Records in an edition of 500, long out of print. At the time I described the 19-minute piece as “beautiful and haunting,” and I feel the same way today. But now there’s no longer the need to take my word for it.
