I Am Not Afraid of You and I Will Beat Your Ass is in the proverbial can, and that means it's time for us to start thinking about going on the proverbial road. But that does not mean it's time for hours of boring rehearsal. "I don't even have to practice," sang Jad Fair many years ago, and it still rings true today, "it's a gift." The way we prepare is to start playing those car games that will get us through those late-night drives from (insert your town here) to (insert your town four-to-twelve hours from your-town-here here).
The current challenge is to name a musician whose last name could also be a first name. No last name can be repeated. Using athletes as an example, James could offer Babe Ruth or Dwyane Wade. Neither Billy nor Venus Williams counts, unless unlike Ira, James knows someone whose first name is Williams. Spelling counts (if Georgia can come up with someone whose last name is Bobby and someone else whose last name is Bobbie, we'll accept one of each). No reference materials will be allowed.
And please, people, no kibbitzing. If there are any challenges to be made, the other band members will make them. Any suggestion that comes in via email will have to be disqualified.
